Well, there are the pleasures and pains of journeying the dream God has given to you, and this blog serves as a place i record and share with whoever's reading, this exciting journey... =)
read on...
Well, for one, persecution or rather being rediculed and laughed at for your faith is not something new under the sun... have personally been through it many, many times... for being the 'holy cow' in class, the most conservative and reserved...
1 Timothy 3:12
Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
yes, all who desire to follw Him will be persecuted... so doesn't it all seem to contradict Christ's teaching that we'll live the 'abundant' life once we've recieved Christ? ... Hmmm, well, here comes the problem... Many times, we see that once you've become a Christian, you're automatically transferred to the bed of roses where you lie down in green pastures and enjoy fellowship with God for eternity. Well, that is true, that we have come under the grace of God and been made to partake in His blessings. But many times too, we forget that following Christ also means following in His steps to take up the cross, to deny ourselves and to follow Him, just like Jesus denied Himself, humbled Himself, even to death on the cross. Jesus choose to obey His Father's will and what the Father has sent Him to do. A we willing to pay the price? Do what He wants you to do? Take up your cross and follw Him?
Well, we say we're willing to follow Christ, but only in His blessings, health, prosperity and 'abundance of life'... not the part about denying oneself, for that's too much to bear... so where did the part about discipleship go in the Bible...???
Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
Hmmmm... so, well? What say you?
